The IRB120 is agile, compact and lightweight, with excellent control and path accuracy, control and path accuracy, making the IRB120 ideal for material handling and assembly applications.
Compact and lightweight
As ABB's smallest robot to date, the IRB 120 combines all the features and technology of the ABB product range in a compact space. Its weight is reduced to just 25kg and its compact design allows it to be installed almost anywhere, such as inside a workstation, on top of machinery or close to other robots on the production line.
Wide range of applications
The IRB 120 is used in a wide range of applications in electronics, food and beverage, machinery, solar energy, pharmaceuticals, medical, research and other fields, further strengthening ABB's new fourth-generation robot family. The white-coated, cleanroom ISO class 5 model opens up a whole new field of applications for high-standard clean production environments.
With a maximum load of 3 kg (4 kg with wrist (5-axis) vertically down) and a working range of up to 580 mm, this 6-axis robot can perform a range of tasks with flexible (non-rigid) automation solutions. The IRB 120 is the perfect choice for cost-effective production, especially in confined production spaces.
Easy to integrate
Weighing only 25kg, the IRB 120's outstanding portability and integration make it the best in its class. The robot can be mounted at any angle. The surface of the body is clean and easy to clean, and the air lines and user signal cables are embedded inside the body from the feet to the wrists, making it easy to integrate into the robot.
Optimized working range
In addition to a horizontal working range of up to 580 mm, the IRB 120 has a first-class working stroke with a pick-up distance of 112 mm below the base. The symmetrical construction of the IRB 120, with no camber in the 2nd axis and an extremely small radius of rotation, allows it to be mounted close to other equipment, and the slim wrist further enhances the arm's accessibility.
Fast, precise and agile
Equipped with lightweight aluminum motors, the IRB 120 is compact and powerful, allowing the robot to run at high acceleration, ensuring excellent precision and agility in any application.
IRC5 Compact Controller: The perfect “partner” for small robots
ABB's new compact controller condenses the best features of the IRC5, bringing the precision and motion control previously reserved for larger machines to a wider range of applications. In addition to saving space, the new controller also simplifies commissioning by setting up single-phase power inputs, external signal connectors (all signals) and a built-in expandable 16-channel I/O system. The offline programming software RobotStudio can be used for production workstation simulation to set the optimal position for the robot, and offline programming can be performed to avoid costly production interruptions or delays.
Reduced footprint
The perfect combination of two new products, the compact and lightweight IRB 120 robot and the IRC5 compact controller, significantly reduces the footprint and is best suited for applications where space is at a premium.
